Ocean treasures from the bountiful tidal shore.
Pieces to journey a hundred years and more…
Sarah’s story
“I am a native islander from the famous whisky Isle of Islay, on Scotland’s rugged West Coast. Long in the Hebridean tradition, I work in the same way my ancestors have before me – exploring the coastline, and collecting and foraging details and treasures from my island shores.
The vast and powerful waters that surround my home have always fascinated me; the patterns and shapes, textures and colours – it’s an endlessly rousing and romantic landscape.
Each piece becomes a collage of observations that aim to portray the boundless facets that can be found in such an untouched and untamed natural environment.”
Created with passion
Over the past 15years Sarah has cultivated her signature wax-carving techniques, creating her ‘ocean treasures’ from an organic design process that often begins with a windy Sunday stroll. Sarah works with precious metals, predominantly gold, and delights in selecting distinctive gemstones whose facets tell a tale in themselves.
“I work with a muted palette in mind, in a nod to the rugged and sultry beaches from which I draw my inspiration.”
Each piece is crafted by hand, cast by expert casters, and returned for stone-setting and finishing in Sarah’s beautiful island studio.
“I absolutely adore Sarah's work. I bought a bespoke engagement ring and later a custom wedding band a few years ago… All of it is so beautiful - the detail is incredible. It is delicate and whimsical and really does make you feel like you are wearing an ocean treasure.”
